On The Naming of This Blog

I admit that, when pondering the naming of a blog dedicated to describing my time in Denmark, my mind could not help but stray to The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark. Although this may seem horribly cliché, I could not help but be touched by Ophelia’s words in Act Four, Scene Five of the play, “we know what we are, but know not what we may be.” They seem to embody not only my feelings about my upcoming trip to Denmark, but also the spirit of travel in general. Although Ophelia was referring more to a journey to the afterlife than a journey across the Atlantic, the sentiment still holds. All travelers hope to discover something new in themselves, something their homeland is unable to show them. It is with this hope that I finish the first of what I hope to be quite a few posts on this blog.
